Summary
The Air-Exchange, also known as the Airex or Air-Conditioner, is a cut Half-Life 2 chapter taking place at a combine facility. The location was of great importance for much of Half-Life 2's existence, being one of the oldest concepts created for the game, and eventually cut very late in development, with a large amount of work put into the corresponding maps. The theme of the area remained more-or-less the same throughout development, an industrial facility with very little thought given to workplace safety. A large amount of content was made for this area, some of which can still be found in retail versions of Half-Life 2.
History
Basic history of the Airex is catalogued here (first concepts, earliest iterations, etc.).
Maps
Airex 01/Start
Airex 02
Airex 03
Airex 04
Airex 05
Airex 06
Airex 07
Airex 08
Fate
Put its eventual fate here (Why it was cut, reused elements, etc). Information from the dev team/interviews would be great.
