''' Spawn: ''' In the Net Test 1 version of this map, the player spawns on a wooden platform suspended in the air by a metal support beam. In a Advertisement for Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms <ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7BLG9TnYiM&t=45s</ref> shows the Spy Class climbing a rope over to the Power Generator Room. It's unknown if the Power Generator is still located in that room when it was ported to TF2:BOA. There are a hand-full of Differences seen between what's in the Net Test 1 Leak and what's seen in the TF2:BOA Advertisement screenshot below.

* The bridge that the player spawns on appears to be even more broken and shorter in TF2:BOA, making the process to get to the Generator Facility much more difficult.

What's worth noting is the high placement of the sentries, implying the sentry model itself was recompiled, but not the origin of the entities on the map. It's possible the sentries were replaced with mounted machine guns for Valve's Team Fortress given their presence in other maps' promotional material, but nothing can be said definitively.

If you continue straight on instead of turning left to the bridge, you can enter a path to a heavily-guarded bunker. The area surrounding the bunker is rough, with a small valley making access difficult, though a makeshift wooden bridge helps alleviate access. This area is relatively well fortified, with two turrets mounted on an overhang overlooking the bunker.
The bunker itself is incomplete. There's no interior light fixtures and there are misaligned textures. Inside the bunker are two grunts, and there are two ways to approach them. The first is a head-on assault, running through the back and shooting them. The other way is to break the bunkers' vents on the outside and throw a grenade or two down.
Unlike the bridge and the generator structure, this area is not seen in any promotional material for either Valve's Team Fortress or Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms.

Assault is a map that seemingly portrays an occupied, outdoor series of three connected facilities, possibly owned by the Black Mesa Research Facility.

Landmark Comparisons

Spawn

In the Net Test 1 version of this map, the player spawns on a wooden platform suspended in the air by a metal support beam. A advertisement for Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms [1] shows the Spy Class climbing a rope over to the Power Generator Room. It's unknown if the Power Generator is still located in that room when it was ported to TF2:BoA. There are a hand-full of differences seen between what's in the Net Test 1 Leak and what's seen in the advertisement, as pictured in the screenshot below.

  • The bridge that the player spawns on appears to be even more broken and shorter in TF2:BoA, making the process to get to the Generator Facility much more difficult.
  • The mountain around this area of the base is not flat in TF2:BoA, instead having more edges and looking even more like an actual cliff-face.
  • The skybox is completely different in TF2:BoA. The Net Test 1 Version uses the skybox that was first seen in the map c2a3c.

Bridge

There is a bridge in the middle of a huge canyon with a small body of water at the bottom. This bridge area has been seen in screenshots from Valve's Team Fortress that originate from a website called "planetfortress", and were later preserved on the Valve Archive.[2] Unlike the spawn area and the Power Generator, there are only a small number of changes from the Net Test 1 Version, and what's seen in Valve's Team Fortress.

The end of the bridge, where 2 sentries are placed slighty above the ground and behind 2 sandbag barricades guarding a tunnel, is present in the released screenshots of VTF. However said screenshots do not show either the tunnels or the sentries.

  • The bridges' support beams in the Net Test 1 version stick out of the left and right-hand sides of the bridge, breaking apart the guard rails. Those parts that stick out were removed in Valve's Team Fortress.

Bunker
