When Half-life was released in Germany it needed to be censored. But did you know that when valve was developing the game it was censored outside of the German build too? There were plenty more features programmed for Half-Life that were cut due to the game being censored. In this article, we’ll be covering early versions of German censorship, early features that got censored in the base game, and what type of censorship made it into the released German build.
Scientists
The scientists in some German pre-release magazines, they resemble robots with red and white coloration.
Security Guards
The security personnel have a much more robotic look to them. They are colored a navy blue.
Zombies
The Zombies share the same color scheme as the scientists, difference being the the obvious zombie features.
H.E.C.U
The H.E.C.U had a much more different look to them compared to their retail counterparts. They resembled humans a lot more closely, and had a different gun model.
Trivia
An interesting thing to note about the scientists and zombies is that their UV mapping seems to be broken.
