How the repo works
There are two root directories:
- /materialsrc/, which accounts for all of the texture sources. This tends to have less interesting content, since the automated process which converts it shouldn't use earlier versions. But some have strangely high resolutions, and there are leftovers of unused content present as well.
- /modelsrc/, which accounts for all of the model sources. Despite the name, there is often texture work leftover, usually desynchronized to what appears in the final version.
Though this differs depending on the repo, in this one all of the XSI/3DS Max sources, as well as PSDs have been removed. A conspicuous leftover of this is in the
Repo differences
There are two separate distributions of this repo leak. The earlier one, packaged as RepoDump4.7z, is the combination of a large number of separated folders hosted on Mediafire. These folders contained the /modelsrc/ and /materialsrc/ folders in one zip file, for one particular "model folder", with some exceptions. (Such as the world texture folders.) hl2.rar is the one released alongside the rest of the repo, by Leakerwanderer.
RepoDump4 contains these various additional assets:
- Adds the folder /materialsrc/Characters/, containing 4 citizen facemaps.
- Adds /materialsrc/models/Combine_Elite/, which contains miscellaneous textures.
- Adds /materialsrc/models/Cremator/, which contains a hirez TGA for the cremator gun.
- Adds /materialsrc/models/ManhackOld/, containing additional textures.
- Adds the entire /models/obsolete/ directory, containing only AirExTruck's W_test.tga.
- Adds /materialsrc/models/Odell/, with random textures.
- Adds /materialsrc/models/Wasteland_scanner/, containing its texture.
- /modelsrc/Bullsquid/ contains WalkN3.smd, originally randomly sent by Pelpix to Captain Vance. Its authenticity is ambiguous.
- Adds /modelsrc/ihvtest/, which only contains its textures.
- Adds /modelsrc/ihvtest_tree/, ditto.
- Adds /modelsrc/props_animated/Headcrab_gun/.
- Adds /modelsrc/props_animated_breakable/Smokestack/.
- Adds /modelsrc/props_borealis/.
- Adds /modelsrc/props_building_details/.
- Adds /modelsrc/props_buildings/.
- Adds /modelsrc/weapons/v_ar2/AR2_reference (2).smd, supposedly an earlier version of the model. This was originally hosted as a bare file on the Mediafire folder, which was added to the directory (thus the 2 indicating the filename duplication). The source is ambigious, since it clearly isn't a part of the repo normally.
Repo file date trivia
The evidence shows that the leak is a combination of the 2016/2017 Facepunch leaks (dated as such), the prior “beta - 2” leak (dated as such), the source SDK and actual new content. The Facepunch leaks were not overridden by repo content. This evidences that the folders released during the Facepunch leaks are most likely the same as this copy of the repo.
We know this because of the modified dates, which differ between each.
The source SDK Antlion_Guard_XSI has its scenes - the repo doesn’t. The repo Antlion_Guard_XSI was actually copied over the SDK one, but the scenes were kept due to having no equivalent.
Everything in the leak is by default from 1/12/2020.
Exceptions to this are jetski001.tga, from 2/22/2019, and the kitty modelsources, from 6/20/2019.
After this, some assets are from 2/1/2020, such as the props_c17 modelsources and Alyx_XSI. Further, the thumbnails in the texture folder are from 7/26/2020. They appear to have been newly added.

New Obsolete Textures
Ammocrate_Crossbow.tga
This unused ammocrate has 4x the texture resolution of the others, and different shading.
/obsolete/
A counterpart to the iconic Source purple-and-black “missing texture” engine texture, intended to be used on obsolete assets. It never found any use (obsolete assets instead being defiled with pink lines), so it ironically is obsolete itself.
/Roller/
An alternative version of the Leak rollermine is present. This one has a color palette similar to the final version.
/Fire_equipment/
A very large metal texture is present. The filename, "Goldymetal(64).tga", implies a intended resolution of 64x64 pixels.
As it appears in the leak (as "W_WeldTank2 (merge) (512).vtf"), it is somewhat larger, but still diminutive compared to the full thing:

Both textures have a different, less colorful glass texture as compared with the Leak.

A texture for the unused playground sandbox, prior only seen on Damarcus’ portfolio:

An extra texture for the combine emplacement gun. It appears to be some supplemental metal in addition to what is present in retail.
Early Combine Interfaces
Curiously, bundled alongside the final textures are raw AO bakes, with some UV grids. One of the textures is also an unfinished version of the final texture.

A slightly different version of the suit charger. It also has a UV grid (not pictured) on the alpha channel.

Early UV Grids
Alongside these UV grids, there are a number of TXT files pointing towards a number of body / face variations. These can be found in the Leak:

Destructible model
The model has numerous bodygroups which allow you to blow pieces of armor off of it until it is defeated.

Bizarrely, an entire model render with a rough sketch of a foot is in “foot.tga”.

The repo’s version of the texture has a blue light instead of a red.

Scanner_sheet_dirty is just an AO bake of the model.

Among sets of earlier textures, there are also two reference textures that were used for them. One of these, recolored, was used for TBot1.

An earlier facemap is present under “temp.tga”. The full-resolution Eli facemap is also present.
Nonstandard Pants Textures
These pants textures seem to be much older than most assets, using parenthesis in the filename, and having a very nonstandard resolution. Bizarrely, other pre-sheet Eli assets are removed.

Odd Textures
The “backdoor” texture in the repo is just a UV grid.

Final Model
The final model for the fassassin is present. This was prior unavailable, with only the Leak or HL2:Survivor version available.
Early Textures
There’s an early texture UV-grid texture set, alongside the early beginnings of a second.

Larger pre-merger textures
Alongside the other of the 4 textures merged into hev_sheet, these have 4 times the resolution in their separate versions.

Alongside some uninteresting UV grids, there’s an alternative version of the Leak Gordon suit texture, along with its wireframe:

A mostly un-textured XSI sheet. Speculation is continual as to what exactly the model was intended to look like, with many ambiguous islands. Nothing like the roughly textured “arm patch” appears anywhere else.

Bizarre color change.

An earlier sheet with a strong resemblance to the super physcannon, but no actual intent of being used as such. Some blue tinting from this is present in the final version.

The body texture uses an earlier Combine icon.
