The Nova Prospekt Era is the first era of Portal's development. It is named for resembling Nova Prospekt from Half-Life 2.

Story

Before the creation of GLaDOS and Aperture Science, Portal originally ended with the player exploring the offices and lobbies of the facility and attempting to escape.

(2006) Early 2006 Era

The Early 2006 Era added an entirely new aesthetic for Portal's environments. The dark, industrial elements that were inspired by Half-Life 2 were replaced with lighter, sleeker designs.
