The "Skybox" is a method of creating backgrounds to make a computer and video games level look bigger than it really is. When a Skybox is used, the level is enclosed in a cuboid (six sides), with specially made skybox textures drawn on it. Many skyboxes were cut or heavily modified during Half-Life 2's development. Many have been lost, and are only present in Valves archives. When a Skybox is used, the level is enclosed in a cuboid (six sides), with specially made skybox textures drawn on it. Many skyboxes were cut or heavily modified during Half-Life 2's development.
