Overview

The "Skybox" is a method of creating backgrounds to make a computer and video games level look bigger than it really is. When a Skybox is used, the level is enclosed in a cuboid (six sides), with specially made skybox textures drawn on it. Many skyboxes were cut or heavily modified during Half-Life 2's development. Many have been lost, and are only present in Valves archives. The following is a list of skyboxes found in the leak, along with their original versions/possible replacements. A few older skies were kept as placeholders, having been palette-swapped (purple squares) or brightened.
